In 2013, following the success of the Mibo paper animals, Madeleine was invited to create a series of books for very young children for Button Books. Madeleine was keen to introduce the animals within their own particuar habitats, not in the zoos and circuses often portrayed in children's books. The books are love letters to the natural world, with a gentle reminder at the end of the book of the importance of doing everything possible to protect such precious habitats and creatures.
Madeleine was extremely lucky to collaborate with author Jason Hook who created the wonderful rhyming prose to accompany the illustrations.
The books have now been translated into French, German, Swedish, Italian, Russian and Mandarin.
