In 2011 Mibo designed and released 'make-them-yourself' paper animal kits to provide young people with a fun incentive to hone the fine motor skills required in making them. The animals start life as flat templates and are made into their 3D shapes with some cuttting, gluing and sticking. The kits were available either as pdf downloads or as actual physical kits, printed locally on 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper. The kits were designed to have as lower carbon/ecological impact as possible. Printed locally, designed to start life completely flat for efficient shipping and storage, and made out of materials which would eventually completely decompose (paper and corn starch).
In 2012 Mibo collaborated with the World Wildlife Fund to create a special set of critically endangered animals, along with fact sheets about what needs to be done to help them. The animals won Children's Product of the year at Top Drawer London.
