In 2011 Mibo designed and released 'make-them-yourself' paper animal kits to provide young people with a fun incentive to hone the fine motor skills required in making them. The animals start life as flat templates and are into their 3D shapes with some cuttting, gluing and sticking. The kits were available either as pdf downloads or as actual physical kits, printed locally on 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper.
In 2012 Mibo collaborated with the World Wildlife Fund to create a special set of critically endangered animals, along with fact sheets about what needs to be done to help them.
During the past few months, with many children off school during the Covid-19 crisis, Mibo has made most of the back catalogue of animals downloadable for free on the mibo website. The animals have been downloaded extenisively worldwide.
